Simply The Best! This was our first time to Cape Cod and we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. I had researched hotels all over the island and fell in love with the Hyannis Room at the Anchor In. Our room was perfect! Spacious, clean, comfortable and a great wraparound deck with an awesome view of the harbor. The Front Desk staff were so helpful and responsive to our needs. Directions, restaurant recommendations (lots of menus are available for you to review). The continental breakfast was delicious - hot, fresh food and beverage everyone to enjoy either in the library or on the porch. I couldn't be more pleased with our choice of hotel. The staff makes you feel so welcome! We were delighted to see a bottle of champagne in our room upon our arrival wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Upon our departure, we received a lovely bag of bottle waters and taffy. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel! Simply the BEST! A Valued Guest Summer 2012. Avalued Guest Spring 2017.
Liked it so much we stayed on! We booked for 3 nights and stayed 5! This Inn is charming, friendly, extremely clean and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed some lovely evening meals in Hyannis' restaurants at the staff's recommendation. The breakfast on offer was fresh, plentiful and of excellent quality in a very pleasant and comfortable surrounding. It is buffet style with very good choices, which are continually being replenished. The decor throughout this hotel is quality and tasteful. Quiet location, in easy walking distance to harbour/ferries and Maine Street with the many restaurants and shops. Good parking, lovely views, lots of information available in the hotel for the holiday maker........ and loads of lovely fluffy white towels in the bathroom! We are only sorry they did not have availability on the 6th night! A valued Guest Summer 2012.
A Magnificent Gem! We just returned from our stay at the Anchor In . WOW!! We would rate our stay as 10+. Upon arriving we were greeted by Janet, a member of the Anchor In staff. She helped us get our bearings around the hotel. Next we entered our room that was spotless and couldn't be more perfect with our own private deck facing the beautiful harbor. We noticed a split of champagne and Belgian chocolates were placed there to help us celebrate our anniversary!! Once the car is parked you do not need to start the engine again until you leave. Location, location, location !! You can walk to restaurants, shopping, parks, museums, memorials, hospital, ice cream , island ferries etc. The continental breakfast( which is included in your room) is not to be believed Our time there was much too short. Upon leaving you are given a "goodby present". It contains 2 cold bottles of water and some taffy for your trip home! Oh Anchor In-- we will be back soon ! A valued Guest Summer 2012
Wonderful Hotel! Having never been to Cape Code before, it was quite challenging to decide where to spend our two nights there. I chose the Anchor In hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and personal phone calls to the hotel to make reservations and ask questions. The staff goes out of the way to be helpful and personal. This hotel is located on the water with a lovey view of the water. A short walk to restaurants and the ferries. The breakfast offered was the one of the best I have ever had and was first class with real china. A valued Guest Summer 2012.
Wow! What can I say?! My husband and I just came home from our third visit to the Anchor In. Again, our experience there was fantastic. The grounds are beautifully maintained. Our room, 127, was always spotless and comfortable. The view of Hyannis Harbor from the room's deck was gorgeous! Every morning, we were offered a wide variety of delicious treats to eat for breakfast. This hotel is centrally located, so that you can easily visit any town of your choice on the Cape, from Falmouth to Provincetown. We wholeheartedly recommend the Anchor In because they make you feel so relaxed and at home. A Valued Guest Summer 2012
Loved It! My wife and I just returned from a wonderful vacation in Hyannis and wanted to write about our great experience staying at The Anchor In. First of all, the location of the hotel was perfect for us - close enough to Main street to walk to all the shops and restaurants, but far enough away from all the hub bub of the other vacationers and their kids. This place was quiet and very peaceful so you could enjoy just floating in the pool listening to the sounds of the boats and ferries as they come and go in the harbor after a day of viewing this beautiful Cape with all its flowers, beaches and old American charm.
Also incredible was the service and attention we received from the staff at the hotel. They simply went above and beyond. From getting us dinner reservations - even mapping out ways for us to find Edward Hopper's hard-to-find home/studio - and simply making our visit to the Cape very easy and enjoyable. We shout out kudos to Sandy, Janet, Chris, and Francis for not only making our visit memorable, but making us feel welcome and wanting to come back which we are certainly planning on as soon as possible. Also worth mentioning is the sumptuous continental breakfast - delicious fresh fruits and lots of variety. A valued Guest Summer 2012
Lovely! Well worth a visit. Setting is charming and the views of Hyannis Harbor cannot be beat. Quiet place to read a book or the morning paper watching the boats go by. Rooms are nice and service is friendly. Breakfast was simple, but excellent. Eat in the quaint library or the solarium overlooking the harbor. Not inexpensive, but the nicest hotel in the area. A Valued guest Summer 2012
Feels like you are in a friends guest room! This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed and I have stayed in a lot of places. The room and bathroom were very clean. The room felt like a nice guest room not like being in a hotel. The location to restaurants and to the water was great for getting in a nice walk. Museum and beaches are just short scenic drives away. A Valued Guest Summer 2012
A Lovely Stay! I wanted to thank you for a beautiful experience at the Anchor-In. My husband and I stayed there this past weekend while our daughter was getting married at the Pomponesset Inn. We were hesitant to stay in Hyannis after our experience at another local hotel in Hyannis last year for the engagement party.... However during that stay last year, we were out exercising and ran past your beautiful place and felt that we should call to find out more about it. From the moment I spoke with the reservationist, I knew we were in good hands. She was so helpful and gave us the most beautiful room which made our stay even more enjoyable. When we checked in the gentleman at the desk was sweet and polite. The continental breakfast in the morning was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! You singlehandedly turned around our opinion of staying in Hyannis Harbor and we could not have had a more relaxing experience considering the many wedding activities we had scheduled.
Thank you again so much. Keep up the good work and we hope to stay again at the Anchor-In. A valued guest July 2010.

"A Great Find"
We. Loved. This hotel. In fact, we didn't want to leave, and we extended our stay by an extra night.
Where to start... well... this hotel has a very "boutique" feel to it. The front of the hotel does not tell the story of how lovely it is. It's a cute, "little" looking front, well maintained. But it doesn't do the rest of the facility justice.
The staff was fantastic and accommodating in every way, helpful and delightful. The hotel is absolutely spotless, from the parking lot to the rooms, to the breakfast area. Our room (West Wing King Deluxe) was GORGEOUS , with harbor views. It was too chilly to spend too much time on the balcony, but we couldn't resist standing out there and looking at the water together each day.
The room was spacious enough for us both, and the bathroom was impeccable. The heat lamp was a nice feature, and the shower ran well and hot. Having the sink outside the tub / toilet area took a little getting used to, but it is a convenient feature. The bed was incredibly plush, and the pillows and linens were wonderful. The furnishings & decor are tasteful and serene, and the free wifi worked like a charm the whole time. The flat screen tv was a nice touch and reception was always perfect.
Breakfast is pleasant, with quality bagels, muffins, bread etc., butter, cream cheese and jam... fruit, yogurt, granola, cereal...coffee, tea, cocoa... all very simple but it was always enough to slake our hunger in the morning, and Helene (who oversees breakfast) was consistently cheerful and helpful and pleasant. We liked sitting along the glass wall overlooking the harbor, but the "library" is a charming area as well, furnished with tables and chairs as well as armchairs and sofas. Newspapers are readily available, and the background music so subtle that you don't realize it's part of what makes it such a nice experience at first.
The hotel smells wonderful as well, exactly as you hope a hotel will smell - soapy, clean, not overly perfumed, and everything is pleasing to the eye. The amenities in the room were also nice. Parking was easy and readily available. Area attraction information is widely available in the main hallway, which was extremely helpful.
Back to the accommodating nature of this place, on checkout day we needed a little extra time and they allowed it without penalty. When we needed the room cleaned a little later in the day, that was no problem. The staff was thoughtful, solicitous and we were truly sad to go.
On top of all this, we got a great deal because we stayed in the "off" season.
Next time -and there will be a next time - it's Anchor-In all the way! A Valued Guest.
"Great Experience" We just got back from a 3-day stay at the Anchor In and wanted to say that this is a great place to stay. The staff members were among the nicest of any hotel the I have ever visited. Our room was clean and comfortable and the grounds nicely maintained. Continental breakfast was delightful. I would highly receommend this hotel for a convenient, friendly and comfortable stay. A Valued Guest.
"Location, Location, Location" Tucked away on Hyannis Harbor, the Anchor In is just a short walk to the Ferries, Tour Boats, waterfront restaurants and Downtown Hyannis. The grounds and scenery are lovely, and a generous continental breakfast is included. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. I mentioned at booking that it was our 20th anniversary, and a split of champagne and two glasses was waiting for us in our room. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. I was surprised at how small the TV was when I opened the big armoire that contained it, but it wasn't a big deal, as I didn't travel to the Cape to watch TV!! I would definitely stay there again. "The Perfect Place" Delighted with our long weekend stay in room 138. My husband and I travel extensively and are choosy about where we stay and we were not disappointed. I understand this is a family hotel and it shows in the way they take care of their guests. I was greeted with smiles from the beginning. Our room was cozy and immaculate and the shower had the best water pressure we have ever experienced in a hotel. Our balcony overlooked the harbor and the beautifully landscaped grounds. The continental breakfast was certainly more extensive than most and wonderfully healthy.. my favorite was the vanilla yogurt which I loaded with sweet cranberries. It was a pleasure to stay here! A Valued Guest
"We Shall Return" Stayed at the Anchor In end of May 2009. Even if the weather was not like we were expected we had a warm welcome at the reception desk. Very friendly people working there. We were allocated the room 129 and I must say it was perfect. Overlooking the harbour, with a small balcony (that we, because of the weather, were unable to use) huge room very clean and a big bathroom. There is coffee or tea available during the day in the library and in the morning a continental breakfast is served. Lots of different pastries, croissants, muffins and so on. There is a swimming pool as well. All in all a perfect hotel to spend some days in the area. Staff is very but very helpful, accommodating, giving tips for restaurants (good tips) and genuinely nice. We will definitively come back and stay a bit longer. A Valued Guest
"Excellent, a Nice Surprise" My husband and I stayed here for our second baby moon. When we pulled up to it after 7 hours of driving & we thought we were going to be disappointed. The front doesn't look like much. And the town of Hyannis is not much of anything either except Main Street. If you are going to stay in Hyannis, this is the only place to stay that is 10 times superior to the other hotel/motels in the area. It sits on the Harbor away from the traffic. There is a lovely cafe area with free coffee/ tea all day til 11pm with a fireplace, game boards, and a large plasma. Classical music plays over the speakers all day. Very relaxing. A Valued Guest
"Beautiful Harbor Views and Close to the Island Ferries" We (two beautiful travel goddesses) loved the Anchor In hotel! We stayed in the best hotel room if you ask me, closest to the harbor bay called Hyannis. It was on the top floor with a private balcony and majestic view of the ships coming/departing. I highly recommend this 'Hyannis' room~beautifully decorated with calming neutral colors. Continental breakfast was acceptable with yummy cranberry muffins! The hotel was in walking distance of everything but the taxis were affordable when it rained. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful~ we would stay again if we ever visit Marthas Vineyard or Nantucket again. Thanks for the wonderful stay! A Valued Guest
"A Great Choice" This is a lovely place to stay. We stayed in the west wing deluxe room, all very clean and comfortable, tastefully furnished and surprisingly light room. The breakfast is well worth a mention and we looked forward to it each morning - all very relaxing and just the sort of breakfast we enjoyed. Tea and coffee was available all day from the library room which also a nice touch. Staff friendly too. A Valued Guest
"A Nice Surprise" My friend booked our 5 night stay over the Internet and we crossed our fingers that she had chosen wisely. She did!!! Our room was in the east wing on the top floor (only two), with a small deck overlooking the harbor and swimming pool. We were most impressed by the cleanliness of our room and the common areas.

"Great Location" The staff was very helpful and friendly. The grounds were nice, a view of the water from our balcony. Walk to shops and restaurants. Breakfast included in a nice breakfast room. A Valued Guest

“My favorite hotel in Hyannis” We choose to stay here once a month, and we have a choice of any hotel in the area. I will be happy to tell you my perspective of its positive and negatives.
Positives: It is a small local hotel that, to me, evokes an "old Cape Cod" feeling. It is the next best thing to owning a beach cottage. It is right on the water, smack-dab in the middle of town and right next to the wharf, ferries, about 5 blocks to bus terminal. Two blocks or so to Hyannis' scenic main street, dockside restaurants, hospital, etc. It is staffed by natives & people with strong local ties that know everything about their home town, every bump in the road and who owned what house, restaurant, store, and when. They are happy people who want you to enjoy your stay in their home town. The hotel has a resident professional interior designer who decorates and is in charge of renovations which are in progress. It looks pretty and festive any time of the year, Christmas, October, as well as Summer. It is well maintained and the landscapes/plantings are lovely especially in the Summer, and we look forward to the giant pumpkin displays in the Autumn. 4th of July you have a ringside seat. In Summer kids love the pool which overlooks the harbor. We have tried other hotels but it doesn't feel like we've been to Cape Cod unless we stay there (like Christmas without a tree). “A nice surprise” We stayed here on a last minute trip to cape cod. everything from start to finish was excellent. from a smooth check in to the morning coffee and muffin, we had a nice stay. in an area saturated with hotel options we would stay here again. The decor and furniture of the room ,bath and public areas was tasteful and very pretty but not too foo foo. the owners care about hospitality and it shows. A Valued Guest.
“Wonderful stay” I booked a few days on the cape to celebrate my husband's birthday.I was able to make reservations from the hotels web site.Check in was very smooth and quick.Staff was friendly. Our room was on the second floor ,east wing, and had a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. We enjoyed watching the sunsets from the deck. The room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast in the morning was good. Fresh bagels, muffins and fruit. One of the best cups of coffee I've had.The hotel is close to beaches, ferries and Main Street.Staying on the cape off season is definitely a good deal. Rooms are less expensive, and no crowds! We had a great time.Would stay here again.
“The Best Place to Stay in Cape Cod” I have been going to Cape Cod every year for the last 21 years and have never liked a place more than the Anchor In.
Staying at the Anchor In was pleasant from the moment I parked my car and entered the front lobby. The building was beautiful and the front lobby very quaint and had a cute little section selling Cape Cod gifts. The sun deck overlooking the harbor was especially nice and great for reading the newspaper on in the morning.
My room was recently refurbished and had a flat screen TV in it. Everything about the room was comfortable. In fact, the mattress was much more comfortable than my mattress at home and made getting up in the morning very difficult. :)
The service was perfect. Everybody at the motel had a smile on their face and made staying there very pleasant. The breakfast in the morning is just what I wanted and needed. Fresh gourmet muffins, bagels, coffee and juice. The breakfast was out on the sundeck so you could either enjoy it in one of the comfortable sundeck chairs or bring it back to your room on the bamboo trays they provide and eat breakfast while looking out on the harbor or watching the flat screen TV.
I stayed at the Anchor In during the off season, but I would surely go back for a stay during the summer. A Valued Guest February 2008
Well run hotel. Lovely individual rooms. Everything is clean and well kept. Located on the harbour. Ten minute walk into town. The best place we found on the cape. Valued Guests September 2007

To everyone at the Anchor In - I cannot begin to thank you enough for the hospitality, service and genuine interest you all showed during our recent visit to the Cape. I viewed many hotels online before choosing and WOW! I am so glad I chose you! My Mother, who is 83, had never been to Cape Cod and she loved your inn. Everything was perfect - the beautiful and well-kept room, the view from the Centerville, the extra touches and the one stop planning for excursions and trips. As we were driving away, we were already planning and dreaming about visiting again next year...and you can believe we will be staying at the Anchor In again. Thanks and have a wonderful summer. A Valued Guest, May 2007
We just wanted to tell you that we had a wonderful stay at the Anchor In the weekend of June 1. The room was perfect and we really appreciated the refridgerator.
We also loved the view from our deck of the boats in the harbor and the big tour boats going to the islands. We certainly will be recommending your lodging to all of our friends.
We were celebrating our 40th anniversary. We had our honeymoon on the Cape also. We did visit the place where we stayed in 1967 but were very happy that we chose to stay at the Anchor In this time.

We want to thank you for an incredible stay at Anchor In. You completely exceeded our expectations. The Osterville room was magnificent and spotless, as was the entire facility. Everything we read on your website was exactly as we found things. Your staff was very accommodating and helpful with information on the tours and local eateries. We tried everyone you recommended and they were great. The move to another room on our last day went flawlessly and we were in the room before we left for our day's activities. We are recommending
the Anchor In to all of our friends and anyone else who will listen. Thanks again for a great experience and you can count on our business the next time we visit the Cape!

Dear all at Anchor In
I should have sent this straight after our return to the UK, but I’m sure you know how it is with jet lag, getting back to work etc!
We just wanted to thank you all for making our stay with you so pleasant. The room and the breakfasts were lovely but it was the attention and personal service, particularly by reception, that made it so memorable. We especially want to thank the ladies who went to so much trouble to help my husband when his back was so bad (I’m sure you’ll remember that!)
We hope you have a great summer season-we’ll think of you. It goes without saying that we will recommend the Anchor In to our friends and we will certainly come & stay if we are lucky enough to be in Cape Cod again
With very best wishes

We had a family get together and rented 5 rooms at the hotel for the weekend. The staff was polite and very helpful. The rooms were as lovely as the web pictures depict. They were extremely clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and the views were wonderful. The breakfast was very good. My family had a wonderful time and I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. The location and the views are perfect. It lived up to all my expectations. A valued guest October 2006
In one word "Outstanding" I had a a hard time believing that no one had a complaint about the Anchor In but it lived up to its reputation. We spent a week in the new wing and it was excellent. The service was great, there wasn't anything that the innkeepers were not prepared to help with. The location is great and the view is even better. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return next year. A valued guest September 2006
Having just returned from a wonderful, relaxing trip to Cape Cod I wanted to write a review on the wonderful hotel we stayed at the Anchor In. Super clean, comfortable and has all the amenities you would like. Balcony view is great! Pool was super clean and never crowded. Breakfast was yummy & free. Great bagels, coffee and muffins. Excellent place to stay, close to all the major attractions in Hyannis and surrounding towns. All around a beautiful time on the Cape with so much to do and so little time!!! Stay at the Anchor In. I read the reviews and it was truly helpful so I thought I'd return the favor by letting you know about our stay. A Valued Guest August 2006
Anchor In gets a "10"- this is the way all places to stay should be. The rooms were beautiful and the entire hotel has got to be the cleanest and well kept place I've stayed in a very very long time. The owners should be very proud of their staff who do a fantastic job of keeping the grounds and buildings in beautiful condition as well as their friendly and helpful attitude. Anchor In made our 4 day stay in Hyannis a wonderful experience and we wished we had booked a few more days to stay & relax there. Very pretty grounds and great location - walking distance to the ferries and downtown Hyannis as well as easy acces to other areas on the Cape. Would HIGHLY recommend this place and will definitely be back again soon. Great job Anchor In!!!! A Valued Guest July 2006
My husband and I stayed at Anchor In the first week of June. We were EXTREMELY happy with our accommodations and the friendly, helpful, professional staff. Our room was "user friendly", uncluttered, clean and tastefully decorated. We loved the view of the pool and the harbor, the sunroom is a great place to hang out for a little rest and relaxation. Thank you for the enjoyable experience! A valued guest June 2006
We were so pleasantly surprised to find that this inn was all that it advertised itself to be, and more. What you see on the website is what you get . . . . immaculately clean, well cared-for, great location with beautiful views. What you can't see, but you will find when you arrive, is that the staff is extremely helpful and the service is detail oriented. We will definitely stay here again. A valued guest June 2006
Very Nice! Incredible location, great views, fabulous staff. We stayed at the Anchor In based to a large degree on Trip Advisor recommendations and were not disappointed. Walk to dockside restaurants (Spanky's was our favorite) and to the ferry service to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The staff is so friendly and helpful you think you are in Ireland. Truly outstanding. A valued guest June 2006
We stayed in the recently renovated east wing which was excellent. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The balcony was sunny from mid morning onwards and had nice views over the harbour. The staff were very helpful. Continental breakfast is included and was very good. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Main St and the ferry terminals. A valued guest June 2006
My family & I stayed at the Anchor In for 2 nights in May. The hotel was fabulous, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were beautifully decorated and clean, everything was just perfect. A valued guest May 2006.
My whole extended family stayed at the Anchor In last weekend. We had searched extensively for somewhere not too far a drive for people living in NH, MA, NY and NJ. and used Trip Advisor reviews to rule many places out. We settled on Anchor In almost a year in advance, before they had even set their rates for this year, and everything worked out great. The rooms and views looked just like their pictures on the web. Our group stayed in 8 of the rennovated rooms in the East Wing.
"A Great Find"
We found this place after searching on the internet, reviews all looked good but we all know everyone is different so you can take those sometimes with a grain of salt - well, I was pleasantly surprised! A great location, a clean place, beautiful room, wonderful continental breakfast and the funny thing, I noticed when I read the reviews before I went, someone had commented about the water pressure and I laughed to myself because I too am a huge fan of water pressure in the shower - well, let me tell you, if you are looking to get a water massage, this is the place! I took about 4 showers in 2 days just so I could get in the shower - absolutely wonderful and I'm sure during the summer when you get back from the beach and have sand in every nook and cranny of your body, this shower must really rock!!! The staff was wonderful, the common room was peaceful and relaxing with the fireplace, board games, etc. There was not one bad thing I could see and this will now be our new place every year when we go Cape bound for our Christmas shopping! A Valued Guest.
It's the Anchor-In for us from now on - we wouldn't stay anywhere else in town!
